Senior Director, Life Sciences and Technology Transfer

Sadhana Chitale, PhD, MBA is the Senior Director of Life sciences/Technology transfer. Dr. Chitale joined NYU in 2001. Her primary area of responsibility is the management of intellectual property and technology commercialization efforts (related to life sciences) across all of NYU’s campuses. She oversees the activities of Therapeutic Alliances, the translational drug discovery unit at NYU, and is the course director for NYU Langone’s Foundation of Biomedical Entrepreneurship Course. Dr. Chitale received her PhD from the University of Mumbai and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. She did her post-doctoral fellowships at Colorado State University and Weill Cornell Medical School. She is a certified licensing professional and a registered patent agent. She served on the Board of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) from 2022-2026 and currently serves on the AUTM Foundation Board. She also serves on the BIO International Convention’s annual meeting planning committee. Prior to joining NYU, Dr. Chitale was a licensing manager at the Weill Cornell Medical School.
