Senior Manager, Contracts
Brion Berman joined NYU in January 2022 and oversees TOV’s contracts team, which is responsible for drafting and negotiating all non-clinical industry-sponsored research agreements and all technology commercialization agreements, such as licenses, options, MTAs, CDAs, and IIAs. In his role, Berman accelerates negotiations to execution, enhances commercialization strategy, and provides IP-related advice, transaction drafting, and negotiation training. Prior to joining NYU, Berman was an assistant director of technology transfer at the University of Central Florida, in-house intellectual property counsel at Procter & Gamble, and a technology transfer agent at ASRC Aerospace for the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Berman is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, holds his JD from the University of Dayton, an MS in chemistry from the Center of Metalloenzyme Studies at the University of Georgia, and a BS in Chemistry from the University of South Alabama. He is also a member and past chair of the AUTM Public Policy Legal Task Force, a member of the AUTM Public Policy Advisory Committee, and a Registered Technology Transfer Professional.
