Pi-Radio aims to democratize wireless research by making advanced mmWave software-defined radios (SDRs) accessible to the community at an affordable price. They recognize the importance of SDRs to wireless research engineers and the significant impact it has on the wireless industry, including next-gen cellular, robotics, self-driving vehicles, and AR/VR. However, most researchers, especially in academia, lack access to affordable and cutting-edge SDRs, which hinders fundamental research and innovation. Pi-Radio’s v1 SDR product is a fully digital 4-channel transceiver operating in the 57-64 GHz band, enabling multiple simultaneous TX/RX beams and opening up exciting research opportunities across various layers of the protocol stack.
